The community is rallying around the family of slain Dunedin teenager Amber Rose Rush after tragedy struck again this week with the death of her mother Lisa Ann.
A Givealittle page established by Amber Rose’s sister Shantelle has raised nearly $4000 from 82 donors.
Ms Rush said the family was grateful for the support and kind messages.
"Thanks so much for all the help and messages at such a tough time for our family."
The family was struggling to cover costs in the wake of their second death in four months.
"It makes it even more difficult to afford to send mum off and to make sure everything is covered."
Funds would be used to pay for the funeral, she said.
Amber Rose’s mother Lisa Ann Rush was found dead after what was believed to be a suspected suicide on Monday night.
