Bits here and there

Allanton resident Alan Loughrey paints his 60-year-old steel stoop yacht called Wings at the Otago Yacht Club yesterday.

While Wings was getting on in years, Mr Loughrey had only owned the yacht for a couple of years. The paint job was a retouch below the waterline.

Mr Loughrey said while yesterday’s weather suited his work, he had been painting the underside for the past two and a-half months.

"I’m out every day, rain or shine, snow or sun, and the days haven’t all been that good".
