Mornington Kitchen and Bar’s muesli slice

Ask a Chef reveals the secrets of those superb dishes you ate in cafes and restaurants and wanted to try yourself.

Makes 12

125g butter

1 cup sugar

2 Tbsp golden syrup

1 cup flour or gluten-free flour

1 tsp baking powder

1 cup coconut

1 large egg

1 cup mixed dried fruit

1½ cups muesli

Method

Preheat oven to 180degC.

Heat butter, sugar, golden syrup in a pot until melted. Add remaining ingredients and mix together.

Press into a slice tin and bake for 15 minutes until golden.

Allow to cool, then slice.
