Hayley Wylie (23) customer services representative and Greg Wylie (24) wool broker - Mosgiel
When and where did you meet?
Greg and I met through mutual friends in June 2010. We started talking for a few months before we started dating at the end of August 2010.
The proposal
Greg and I bought our first home in Mosgiel, September 2014 so we decided to celebrate and go to Queenstown in October 2014. We went up to the Skyline Gondola and ended up having a romantic dinner with a beautiful view. The buffet meal was amazing. After dinner, we went to go back down the gondola and right at the top Greg got down on one knee and proposed. As I was in shock it took me a while to say YES!!
When and where was the wedding?
Our wedding was held on 19 December, 2015 at the beautiful Grandview Gardens in Outram.
Why did you choose the venue?
We picked this venue as Greg was bought up in Mosgiel and I was bought up in Brighton so we decided this venue was close to both of the important places to us. We got married in front of the view of Saddle Hill.
The dresses and suits
My bridesmaids wore navy full length dresses, they had different styles to suit their taste. The groomsmen wore navy waistcoats and pants with a navy tie and white shirt. I was very fussy when it came to shopping for my dress, so fussy that I left it a little late to choose and had to order so it would get here on time. I wore a white lace dress with cap sleeves. I bought this from a bridal shop in Christchurch.
The caterers
The caterers were Cafe Rue - Brenda and Gary. They were absolutely amazing, the food was divine!! Our guests loved it!
Highlight of the day
Marrying the love of my life and best friend of course! It was also very sweet seeing my husband shed a few tears when I walked down the aisle as he's not one to get tearful.
Our photographer
Shelley Povey was our photographer and she was absolutely fantastic. I am so pleased with all of our photos. We got married a week before Christmas so Shelley kindly gave us a few sneak peaks before Christmas. When we got the rest of the photos in the New Year we got to live the day again - the emotions, the people, the expressions all came back! Shelley and our second shooter Sinead did an amazing job of documenting the people, the venues and the feeling of the day.
