Time is ticking along nicely - getting organised for your wedding is fun but at times daunting. Take a deep breath and let this guide help you as you continue along in all your planning glory.

1 to 3 months out from the big day:
The food and drink - Agree on the menu and wine/bar options with the caterer. Give them the number of expected guests and any allergy/special requirements (vegetarian, gluten-free, peanut-free etc).
Visit the florist - Confirm the colour scheme and flower types with your florist and provide fabric swatches from the bride/bridesmaids dresses. After checking with the mothers/fathers-of-the-bride/groom, order appropriate corsages should you require them. Ushers and grandparents are often gifted with corsages too.
Wedding licence - Head down to your local District Court to apply for the marriage license. This is also a good time to check your passports are up to date if you are planning an overseas trip!
Bridal party - It's a nice idea to give your bridal party a gift to say thank you for the support during this exciting (and stressful) time. This could be the jewellery you want them to wear, such as matching necklaces or cufflinks for the guys. Arrange where the attendants will get ready on the day (it can be fun to have a girly sleepover the night before the wedding!). Follow up suit and dress fittings.
Speeches - Notify anyone required to give a speech/toast. Traditionally, this includes the best man, the father of the bride, the groom, but it is completely up to you as a couple to decide. Look online for ideas and what these speeches should include.
Vows - If you've decided to write your own vows, get started! You never know when inspiration will hit so make the most of a clear head and heart and go for it. Again, looking online and in books for guidelines and inspiration is a great way to start if you suffer from writer's block.
Wedding night - If you're choosing to have a flash night out, it's time to book a hotel. Be sure to tell them it is for your wedding night to take advantage of late check outs or free upgrades!
Late invitation replies and seating plan - Give invited guests a phone call to chase up any late replies and finalise the guest list. Arrange the reception seating plan and liaise with the venue if you plan to display your wedding gifts/have personal decorations. Make name places for the tables - this could be a fun arty project for you and your attendants.
Wedding gown, hair and make-up - Have your final wedding gown fitting between 2 - 4 weeks prior to the wedding day (this will vary according to your designer/bridal shop's preferences). Make sure you bring your wedding shoes and wear the underwear you plan on wearing on the day. Have your hair and make-up trials around this time too - your hair stylist will want to see the veil/headgear if you are planning on wearing one. Finalise appointments for you and the attendants.
Visit the celebrant - Check any formalities are in order; arrange details for the rehearsal (this usually takes place a day or two before the wedding) and make sure all people involved are available for it. Ask your celebrant to check over your Order of Service.
Transport - Check your transport arrangements and booking. Timing the journeys to the ceremony/photo shoot locations/reception venues is a good idea.
Timeline of day - Make a timeline of the wedding day, outlining what you want happening and when. Include transport times and arrangements. Inform your MC to ensure the day runs as smoothly as possible.
Make sure you and your fiancé are eating and sleeping well in these planning stages. Perspective is important: this is one day in your life, all be it a very important amazing day, but keep in mind the whole reason for it - your love for one another! Keep supporting each other and remind your partner why you are choosing them to marry with a kind word or special night date together.
