Acolytes are making a pilgrimage to Andersons Bay Rd today as much-loved retailer Kmart throws open the doors of its new 5000sq m store.
Kmart Dunedin store manager Forrest Worthen said the excitement around the store returning to Dunedin had been undeniable.
"It’s been over four years in the making.
"Both our team and our wider community are thrilled to finally have a Kmart store on their doorstep to brighten up their everyday and support their needs."
Mr Worthen will be leading 170 team members in the Dunedin store.
"I feel honoured to be a part of an amazing team here and am really looking forward to welcoming the community back through our doors."
