Life Matters Suicide Prevention Trust is backing a new radio show and podcast on OAR FM.

The Hope Centre podcast, hosted by the centre’s peer support team, complements the work being done on the ground, offering real stories and real conversations about mental health, growth, and hope.

The Hope Centre, at 63 Hanover St, is a welcoming space where peer supporters offer an attentive ear and ensure anyone in need connects with good support.

All of the centre’s peer supporters have lived experience of mental distress. They provide one-on-one support, monthly groups, advocacy and help with navigating mental health services.

Conversations can be set up by appointment through the Life Matters website or Facebook page, and drop-ins are welcome 9am to 5.30pm Tuesdays, 9am to 9pm Wednesday to Friday, and 1pm to 9pm Saturday and Sunday.

The radio and podcast team are keen to hear from anyone who would like a topic discussed, or even appear as a guest presenter. They can be contacted through the Life Matters Facebook page or by email to admin@lifematters.org.nz.

The Hope Centre radio show airs every second Thursday at 9pm on 105.4FM and 1575AM. Podcasts are available from oar.org.nz and other major platforms.

A full schedule of OAR FM programmes can be found at www.oar.org.nz.
