Only one week to go before the Dunedin Fringe Festival 2025 begins, and the fringe office is a hive of activity.
Festival co-leadership team Ruth Harvey, Kate Schrader and Katrina Thomson and their team are flat out liaising with more than 80 performers and 35 local venues as they prepare for 10 days of frenetic arts activity.
Ms Schrader said ticket sales were 15% up on the previous year so far, which augured well for the festival ahead.
As the Dunedin Fringe Festival marks 25 years this year, the fun will get under way with a Fringe Opening Night Birthday Party on Wednesday, at Te Whare O Rukutia.
‘‘We have been sifting through historic images of the fringe, so there will be lots of memories to share,’’ Ms Harvey said.
Festival shows will run from March 13-23 and will include comedy, local and touring theatre, cabaret, music, Pacific arts, improvisation, dance, performance art, visual art and even a chance to sing karaoke.
Information and tickets are available on the Dunedin Fringe Festival website, dunedinfringe.nz, or pick up a printed copy of the programme from Fringe HQ, 19 George St.
