New Zealand's Marina Erakovic and Russia's Elena Vesnina advanced to the doubles semifinals at the US$220,000 WTA event in Linz, Austria this morning.
The pair beat Anabel Medina Garrigues of Spain and Anastasia Pavlyuchenkova of Russia 4-6 6-3 (10-6) in the quarterfinals.
They were set to take on top seeds Giesela Dulko of Argentina and Flavia Pennetta of Italy in the semi but the Australian Open winners retired when they were 3-0 down in the first set of their quarter-final match.
Fourth seeds Erakovic and Vesnina instead face the unseeded pairing of Latvian Liga Dekmeijere and Croatian Petra Martic.
Meanwhile, New Zealand's Jose `Rubin' Statham and Brydan Klein of Australia are through to the doubles final at the US$15,000 Men's Futures in Kargoorlie, Australia.
They will play Michael Look of Australia and Nicolas Meister of the US.
