New Zealand tennis No 1 Marina Erakovic has improved her singles ranking and made a significant leap in the doubles rankings after an impressive run at Wimbledon last week.
Erakovic, who reached the semifinals in the women's doubles in London with Thai partner Tamarine Tanasugarn and won her first round singles match before bowing out to Slovakian Daniela Hantuchova, has risen to ranking heights not seen since her stellar run of form in 2008.
The 23-year-old has jumped 22 places to 122nd in singles while her doubles ranking has risen 52 spots to 60th, just 17 below her career high of 43rd in 2008.
She began the year ranked 324 in singles, 275 spots below her career high of 49 in 2008, but three singles tournament wins on the International Tennis Federation circuit have turned her fortunes around.
On the back of a 36-10 singles record, the Aucklander has won $US140,512 ($NZ169,390) in prizemoney this year, marking a successful comeback from serious hip and wrist injuries that plagued her in 2009 and 2010.
