Owen Franks admits he was underemployed last Saturday and is on the lookout for more work.

Franks, the young tighthead prop, prides himself on being a good scrummager but he was left twiddling his thumbs in that sector last Saturday night.

The game had just five scrums, not counting re-sets, and Franks said it left him with something of an empty feeling.

"It was a little bit disappointing. Makes you feel a little bit hollow, being a prop and not having many scrums. I was reasonably happy with everything else, though I've got things to work on," he said.

All Black coach Graham Henry said earlier this week he was expecting more out of the scrum, but felt Franks and his brother, Ben, who played either side of the scrum last Saturday night, deserved another chance.

"You've just go to put the work in on the paddock and then hope the selectors keep picking me. We're just looking to build on from last week. It doesn't matter is we win by just one point. As long as we win we'll be happy," Franks (22) said.

He enjoyed playing with his brother and was thrilled for him when he managed to score a try last week, something he has yet to do in test rugby.

"It was awesome for him and he really deserves it. It is great having your brother in the team and I talk a little bit to him but he is just like any other team-mate."

Franks has never played a professional game of rugby on Carisbrook but said the side was looking forward to farewelling the ground in style.

"It will be pretty cool to play the last test here. But the Welsh will not be easy. They have a good scrum and are a good team."

Otago loose forward Adam Thomson has been cleared to play after recovering from a back injury which led to him missing training on Tuesday.

He will start on the bench.
