Joseph was a happy man after his side notched one of its most comprehensive wins in its recent history, beating the Chiefs 36-9 in Invercargill on Saturday night.
Asked after the four tries to none performance, which qualified the Highlanders for the playoffs, how far his team could go, Joseph replied in the positive.
''We can go all the way, I think. You have a look at the competition and this team has beaten all the teams that have played finals rugby. We have beaten all the teams at the top of the competition.
''We seem to be growing every week - and with the adversity we have had.
''It is such a tough competition. I know the Chiefs had a lot out but we've got 12 out and a majority of them in the forward pack. I'm really happy for players who have come in.
''There is a wee bit of momentum. Guys believe in themselves. We have beaten some quality sides and that helps with confidence.''
One more win should seal a home playoff game, which would be a great boost for the Highlanders, both on and off the pitch.
''We are a team which, let's be honest, has no money. And we have got a stadium to die for. If we get another win, then we can play there. Otherwise, we will have to jump on a plane and go to South Africa, which is not ideal.
''I'm really happy for the team, because we had a really tough game against the Force last week and then we stayed at home for a couple of days. So we only had a day and a half to prepare for the game.
''But guys are so keen and want to go forward in the competition. So it was pretty easy to come up with the right plan.
''The quality and calibre of rugby we are playing is the Highlander way. And I think that is a good reflection of the South - that never die attitude, some brilliance and some smart stuff going on.''
The Highlanders play the Hurricanes in Napier on Friday night, and Joseph said it would be a chance to rest the side's three All Blacks, Ben and Aaron Smith and Malakai Fekitoa.
''I wouldn't rest them if I didn't have to. I don't want to change momentum.
''But that is something which has been agreed on and everyone has bought into it and I understand the reasons why. The benefit will be in the long term. Having those players having had a breather will only reap rewards.''
Fekitoa picked up a groin injury on Saturday and left the field with about a quarter of the match left.
Joseph said it was unclear how bad the injury was but, initially, it did not look too serious.
No other injuries were reported. Loose forwards Nasi Manu and Shane Christie could be a chance to come back this week but Joseph said they will not be rushed back into the team.
In other games over the weekend, the Sharks beat the Rebels 25-21, the Reds beat the Force 32-10 in Perth, the Stormers stayed top of the South African conference with a 42-12 win over the Cheetahs in Cape Town, and the Lions beat the Waratahs 27-22 in Johannesburg.
