Prop Brad Gilmour and flanker Jeremy Corliss played dominant roles as Taieri took the lead midway through the second spell to beat Green Island at Tahuna Park.
The best of the Taieri backs was fullback Mike Kerr, with his sound kicking game and his ability to join the line.
Wing Tino Elisara was the best of the Green Island backs and kicked three penalty goals.
Flanker Brendon Hamilton tackled efficiently and was dominant at the breakdown.
