Tasman won 49-16 for its first ever win over Otago.
Otago looked tired from its efforts over the past two weeks and lacked any penetration in the backs.
Its scrum was average and it never looked likely the further the game went on,
Tasman won the second half 29-3 and that was exactly how dominant it was.
It does not get any easier for Otago which takes on Canterbury in Christchurch next Saturday.
Tasman 49 (James Lowe 2, Liam Squire, Shane Christie, Tevita Koloamatangi, Mitchell Scott tries, Marty Banks 5 con, 3 pen) Otago 16 (Craig Millar try, Hayden Parker con, 3 pen)
Halftime: 20-13.
