The Otago side has been provided with a new strip by union apparel supplier Canterbury and it has a slightly different look to last year's.
It is still a deep blue colour but has blue and gold stripes on its shoulders. It also has a check running through the main body of the jersey, and plain blue socks with a gold top.
Otago Rugby Football Union general manager Richard Kinley said the union was in the middle of a three-year deal with Canterbury and they had come up with the new jersey, which had been approved by the union.
The union would not bear any cost of the new jersey, as it was supplied by the apparel maker, Kinley said.
The team would also have a new change strip, which was predominantly gold, for its game against Bay of Plenty on August 30 in Rotorua.
Kinley said many provincial unions had new strips for the season and it had become fairly normal to have different strips every couple of seasons.
Meanwhile, Taieri winger Kieran Moffat has suffered a hairline fracture of the foot and is out of rugby for a month.
Moffat, who has been one of the standout players for the Taieri side on its way to winning the club title, injured the foot in the club final on Saturday.
Otago coach Tony Brown said the injury was disappointing for Moffat, who had impressed for Taieri this season.
Moffat had experienced an excellent year, having made an impression at the national sevens tournament in Queenstown in January, being picked for a national trial.
In June, he joined the Templar sevens side to play three tournaments in Europe.
His injured foot is in a moon boot but it is hoped he will be back for games early next month.
He has been replaced in the squad by Kaikorai outside back Tony Ensor.
Ensor had not been originally named in the squad but after a top effort against South Canterbury last week, he will not look out of place at this level.
Brown reported no other players were suffering major injuries and second five-eighth Glenn Dickson had suffered no ill-effects from a shoulder knock which had forced him off in the first minute of the game against South Canterbury.
The side has now switched to fulltime training and will prepare this week for its second warm-up game of the season, against Tasman, at Forsyth Barr Stadium on Sunday.
Next week, the side will spend a couple of nights in Owaka for a mini-camp before taking on Southland, on August 17, in Balclutha, in its final warm-up game.
Brown said the camp would help team unity and be a good way for the players to get to know each other.
The side starts its ITM Cup campaign against Northland, in Dunedin on August 25.
