Rugby: More RWC 2011 tickets available this week

Another batch of world cup tickets went on sale this week but mark September 10 down as the day the real action starts.

Rugby New Zealand 2011, the company organising the tournament, released some second-chance tickets this week.

In late April, team, pool and venue packs all went on sale for a short period.

RNZ 2011 has this week released more tickets for teams, pools and venues.

The tickets are not in all categories, teams and venues.

In Dunedin they are just in one category - category C - where it will cost $195 for three games.

The tickets were put up for sale for those who may have applied for tickets in one category but had missed out and were now being offered in another category.

The second-chance offer was always planned to be run but would only be open for one week, closing this Friday.

So far this has been the only way to buy tickets.

Individual tickets will go on sale on September 10 for the pool matches, and quarterfinals.

The World Cup will kick off on September 9 next year when New Zealand takes on Tonga, so it will be one year from the first game that general admission tickets will go on sale.

Tickets for all games, except those for the final and semifinals, will go on sale.

The tickets for the semifinals, and final, all to be played in Auckland, will be sold in a ballot system early next year.

Only those who have bought a ticket to pool games will be eligible to buy tickets for these games.

Functions are planned around the country to mark the launch of individual tickets.
