Rugby: Medder appointed to coach Harbour

A meeting of the Harbour club committee on Monday night decided Jack Medder would be head coach and coaching adviser of the premier side this season.

He will be assisted by Scott Guthrie and Motu Hutch.

Paddy Stewart had been appointed coach of the premier Harbour side for the season but stood down after an altercation last Saturday between himself and Guthrie, in which Guthrie suffered a cut lip.

Medder said the club just wanted to put the incident behind it and get on with the season. The Otago Rugby Football Union had been advised and would not be taking any action, Medder said.

Harbour plays Pirates in the opening round of club rugby on Saturday.
