The Highlanders coaching team faces its annual review today.

Highlanders coach Glenn Moore said the review would cover all facets of the season, and look at what needed further resourcing.

He said there was no big issue to consider, although consistency in securing players through the draft needed to be discussed.

It was a process every franchise went through.

Assistant coaches Murray Roulston and Steve Martin will also be reviewed.

New Zealand Rugby Union general manager of professional rugby Neil Sorensen said 30 people would be interviewed, including players and other members of the coaching staff.

He said Moore was rated highly by the union.

The Highlanders won three of their 13 games in this year's Super 14, finishing 11th, though the season ended on a high, with the side winning the final round-robin match against eventual champions the Crusaders.

This season was always going to be tough, with a raft of players leaving the franchise last year, and new players brought into the squad.

Moore was given a contract for two years when appointed last August.

Highlanders board chairman Stuart McLauchlan said he did not expect anything major to come out of the review.

Looking back at the season, he said it would have been better if the team had won a few more games, and if a few decisions had gone their way that may have been the case.

He said Moore had done a great job, and was looking forward to next season.

The review panel comprises Sorensen, McLauchlan, NZRU board members Graham Mourie and Mike Eagle and Otago Rugby Football Union chief executive Richard Reid.
