Rugby: Black Ferns ring the changes

Four New Zealand players have earned their first starts at the women's rugby World Cup in England after being named to play Wales in the final pool match on Sunday morning (NZT).

Following heavy wins over South Africa and Australia, the Black Ferns will qualify for the semifinals regardless of the result against winless Wales in Guildford.

Making their first starting appearances at the tournament are Aucklanders Karina Penetito at hooker and Trish Hina at second five-eighth, along with Canterbury pair Kendra Cocksedge at halfback and Halie Hurring on the right wing.

Auckland winger Victoria Grant has been named captain in place of regular skipper Melissa Ruscoe, who is named on the reserve bench.

Another winger, Renee Wickcliffe, wasn't considered because of a calf injury.

Team: Kelly Brazier, Halie Hurring, Huriana Manuel, Trish Hina, Victoria Grant (captain), Rebecca Mahoney, Kendra Cocksedge, Linda Itunu, Joan Sione, Casey Robertson, Vita Robinson, Monalisa Codling, Doris Taufateau, Karina Penetito, Ruth McKay.
