There is a familiar face and a new one on the board of the Otago Rugby Football Union (ORFU).
Former ORFU board member John Latta has returned to the top table after a previous stint as a director.
Latta, who played 66 games as a prop for Otago in the 1980s and is a life member of the Owaka club, will be representing the Otago Country board, replacing Sarah Middleton. It was confirmed at the union’s annual meeting on Wednesday night.
The new face on the Otago board, replacing Leanne Ross, is Emma Hodgkin.
Hodgkin comes to Otago rugby from a broad background of governance across the health, education and sport sectors.
She was the chief executive of Canterbury Hockey, a director of Canterbury Cricket and involved in commercial and strategy roles with New Zealand Rugby, Netball New Zealand and Mainland Football.
Hodgkin, who won the Canterbury Institute of Directors Emerging Director Award in 2022, had a long spell in Christchurch but now lives in Dunedin.
Incumbent chairman Peter McCormack, who has been a director since 2016 and in the top chair since 2022, was reappointed to the ORFU board.
The board will have its first full meeting on April 28, at which the chairman and deputy chairman roles will be confirmed.
Warren Moffat is the incumbent deputy, and other board members are president Bob Perriam, Craig Brown, Darryl McKenzie, Roger Taylor and Megan Crawford.
Kelvin Collins and Paul Hessian were appointed to the board selection panel at the annual meeting.
Life membership was unanimously endorsed for Roy Daniels, the former ORFU president and Sassenachs stalwart.
