Round winners

The Southern players pose for a photo shortly after beating Taieri 24-10 in the final of round one of the club sevens tournament at Kettle Park over the  weekend.

The final round will be staged at Miller Park this weekend.

Southern’s victory means it leads the standings with 15 points from Taieri (12). Kaikorai (10) and defending champion Alhambra-Union (eight) complete the top four with the other five senior clubs having some catching up to do.

In the women’s grade, Pirates is leading with two wins from two games.
