There will be celebrations fit for a king this weekend.

A bunch of Dunedin’s premier clubs have taken the opportunity with the long weekend for King’s Birthday to get together for some anniversary celebrations.

Green Island, Harbour, Southern and University are all marking their 140th jubilees with an action-packed itinerary.

Southern will host Zingari at Bathgate for what is sure to be the game of the round with the Eric Watson Memorial and Sportsmed Trophy on the line.

The Magpies had a massive 81-7 win against AU last week and are yet to drop a game in the second round of the competition to sit top of the table.

Zingari had a 34-21 loss to Green Island last week but there is no denying the class the Colours have this season.

Green Island will host Taieri in a big day for the Grizzlies with the Bazett Trophy and Robb Cup up for grabs.

The Grizzlies have come into their own to sit second on the table and will want to bank points in a run to the playoffs.

Taieri had the week off and should be fresh from the bye.

Out at Bishopscourt, Kaikorai will host Harbour in their 140th. All Harbour’s junior games will be played out in Port Chalmers.

Harbour will be buoyed after beating University 15-13 last week for just their second win of the season and will be eager to win for their jubilee.

But Kaikorai will be gunning just as hard after going down 23-10 to Dunedin last week.

Sixth placed University will host AU at the University Oval.

University stumbled last week and again will want to play well for their celebrations.

AU are still searching for their first win of the season and will want to cause an upset.

Dunedin has the bye.
