With strong winds battering rowers and chopping up Lake Ruataniwha, all racing was cancelled on Sunday.
As a result, only a handful of finals were completed, leaving the rest of the winners to be decided by the quickest three qualifiers from the heats.
The lack of racing was hardly ideal, as rowers use the regatta to fine-tune preparations before the Maadi Cup on Lake Karapiro starting on March 23.
John McGlashan's boys under-16 coxed quadruple sculls crew of Lochie Bain, Ben Morris, Alex Timmings, Josh Smith and coxswain Alex Byars won one of the few completed finals on Saturday.
The McGlashan rowers were in control throughout, finishing 6.16sec ahead of Timaru Boys' High School in 7min 30.18sec.
King's High School's Mitchell Anderson, Jack Laney, Mike Freeman, Hamish Wallace and coxswain Gray Gibbon were third in 7min 41.14sec.
Mark Taylor, of Waitaki Boys' High School, comfortably won the boys under-16 single sculls in 8min 18.02sec, leaving John McGlashan's Bradley Leydon to claim silver in 8min 34.99sec.
Taylor also won gold with James Scott in the boys under-16 double sculls.
Leydon then combined with Tom Grave, Woody Kirkwood, Lochie Chittick and coxswain Mitchell Parks to secure bronze in the boys under-17 quadruple sculls in 7min 26.03sec.
John McGlashan crews also won bronze medals in the boys under-15 quadruple sculls, boys under-16 double sculls, boys under-15 eights and boys under-17 double sculls.
Riley Bruce, of Mount Aspiring College, won the boys under-17 single sculls in impressive fashion over Harrison Joseph, of St Bede's College, in Christchurch.
Bruce crossed the line 1.88sec ahead of Joseph in 8min 02.12sec.
In a first on Lake Ruataniwha, the octuple scull class was raced on Saturday.
Dunstan High School's Annalise Cook, Iona Morton, Ella Creagh, Lucy Harrison, Emily Downey, Gemma Smith, Aisha Born, Erin Calder and coxswain Sophie Williamson won in 7min 54.47sec, 3sec ahead of Rangi Ruru Girls' School's crew.
Dunstan High School also won gold in the girls under-17 double sculls through Macaela Turfus and Lucy Geddes, while Geddes also won silver in the girls under-17 sculls.
