The region's rowers won seven golds, 11 silvers and nine bronzes.
John McGlashan College was Otago's most successful school, collecting seven medals.
Five of those were gold, boding well for the Maadi Cup, which begins on March 28 on Lake Karipiro.
In the under-16 boys single sculls, John McGlashan's Jack McLaughlan took the title from two other Otago rowers.
He finished in 7min 40.12sec to beat Mount Aspiring College's Sam Pearce, who was second in 7min 46.50sec.
St Kevin's College's Logan Docherty completed Otago's only medal sweep of the regatta, finishing third in 7min 47.93sec.
The school also won golds in the under-15 and under-16 double sculls, under-18 single sculls, through Bradley Leydon, and under-15 coxed quadruple sculls.
Columba College was the most successful girls' school, picking up four medals.
It claimed silvers in the under-17 and under-18 coxed fours, as well as the under-17 coxed eight, and a bronze in the under-17 coxed four.
Dunstan High School secured four medals, three of them gold.
Its one bronze came in the girls under-15 coxed quadruple sculls, an event in which the school also came first.
The winning Dunstan crew finished in 7min 49.09sec, while its second crew came in third in 7min 55.51sec.
That it also won the girls under-15 octuple sculls will come as no surprise.
It finished in 7min 05.28sec, almost 14sec faster than its closest competitor.
A gold in the under-18 girls novice double sculls to Olivia Furrie and Meg Creagh rounded out the school's haul.
Otago Boys' High School and St Hilda's Collegiate nabbed three medals each, while Mount Aspiring claimed two. St Kevin's College came home with one, as did Queen's High School.
Haylee Budd, from Taieri College, was third in the under-17 single sculls.
