Sea Rover proved again that Forbury Park is the place for him when he scored his second consecutive win on the course.
The Terry McMillan-trained trotter took his record to three wins and three placings from nine starts there with a strong front-running win.
Sea Rover’s back-to-back wins have provided good reward for his well travelled reinsman, Morrison, who notched his 12th win of the season last night.
"I am happy enough with the season. I have probably had more placings than I have wins, but at least I am getting somewhere near the honey pot. I am getting plenty of drives which is the main thing."
Sea Rover’s finding the lead and his improved manners have been the key to his two victories, Morrison said.
"He is going well and his manners have got so much better," Purvis scored a training and driving victory with Machs Mareta to take heat two of the nine-heat junior drivers’ series.
He showed brilliant patience to save his charge for one late run and Machs Mareta edged runner-up Pete’s Dash in the shadows of the post.
The remaining heats of the Forbury Park junior drivers’ series will be run on June 21 and june 28.
Forbury Park Trotting Club life member Alan Clyma has seen more races at the club’s track than most but even he had not seen anything like last night’s first race.
Clyma shares in the ownership of Janucci Girl, who completed an astonishing front-running win for driver Dexter Dunn.
The trotter led by as much as 100m in the first two laps of the 2700m affair before hanging on tenaciously to win.
Clyma said he has not seen a race like last night’s spectacular display in his time attending Forbury Park meetings.
"None of mine have ever done that before, that’s for sure."
Janucci Girl has been in front in prior stars and has faded out and Clyma was expecting her to do it again despite her massive lead.
''I was waiting for her to stop, because she usually stops."
"But the last two or three starts she has just got stronger.Clyma credits trainer Steve Lock for developing his trotter into a winner at her 21st start.
"Lockie has done all the hard work.
"Before she went down there I threw her out on a hill with my other mare and she was up and down like a yoyo to get her tucker. The hill work is great for them."
Lock trains the horse and also shares in her ownership with Steph Brayshaw.
Last night’s second race was also a spectacular affair.
A bunched field went to war four-abreast coming off the back straight.
Harrydahorse prevailed over Navajo Art, Glenisthebettor and Motu Top Mach.
