White Robe Lodge will hold an open day on Saturday to coincide with the Melbourne Cup's visit to Wingatui over the weekend.
Like any stallion owners, the organisation hope their resident sires Raise The Flag and Gallant Guru can etch their name into racing history.
On the strength of numbers on the ground in Victoria, Raise The Flag looks to have an edge over his stud-mate.
Raise The Flag's progeny have been in hot demand with Victorian owners and trainers.
That has continued recently, and buyers have been instantly rewarded.
Raise The Flag notched a double at last weekend's Grand National meeting at Ballarat when the recently exported pairing of Ablaze and Flying Agent produced wins.
Both horses were bred, raced and trained at White Robe Lodge.
Studmaster Wayne Stewart said Raise The Flag's reputation for producing staying horses is what keeps the Victorian buyers coming back.
''The Victorian trainers love them because they are great staying horses.
''We have even had interest from studs trying to get us to send Raise The Flag to stand in Victoria.''
His popularity in Victoria means Raise The Flag is as well placed as any New Zealand-based sire to clinch a Melbourne Cup win, Stewart said.
''There are staying races every week in Australia and they race for great prize money.
''The opportunities for these horses over there are huge.''
The rising numbers of his progeny going to Victoria may mean Raise The Flag's best chance of producing a Melbourne Cup winner may not emerge until two or three years' time.
However, the sire does have the chance to win this year's edition if Yogi can step up to compete in elite staying company.
The 8yr-old won the listed Sandown Cup last year and was third in his last start in the listed Queensland Cup.
Nominations close today for this year's Melbourne Cup.
Both Yogi and the Gallant Guru gelding Patrick Erin are expected to be among the nominated.
Patrick Erin would be a realistic Melbourne Cup chance if he could return to the form he showed last spring.
The Chris Waller-trained White Robe Lodge graduate did not appear to be at his best during his autumn campaign, which culminated in his creditable seventh in the Sydney Cup.
Patrick Erin was in excellent form ahead of last year's Melbourne Cup, scoring a group 1 win in the Metropolitan.
The galloper's chances of competing in the great race were dashed when he was pulled out three days before last year's event when found to have an elevated temperature.
Patrick Erin trialled well before having the first run of his spring campaign when ninth over the unsuitable distance of 1400m.
The Waller stable had reported Patrick Erin had pleased them with his progression this campaign.
Exciting young White Robe Lodge sire Ghibellines
enjoyed success of his own in Australia yesterday when producing Zigallene to win at the Sunshine Coast.
The White Robe Lodge stallion parade will be held on Saturday at 9am, while the Melbourne Cup arrives at Wingatui tomorrow.
The public are invited to see the Cup at Wingatui between 9am and 12pm on Saturday.
The cup will also be on display at Wingatui during tomorrow night's Otago Racing Awards.
Finalists the awards were announced this week.
