Reinsman Ricky May has good chances in Country Cups finals in Canterbury and Southland over the next 48 hours.
May drives Wee Brother at Addington tonight. He combines with Van Washing Man at Ascot Park tomorrow.
Wee Brother finished third to Vi Et Animo and Four Starzzz Flash in the Forbury Park Championship last Friday. He won the Marlborough Cup in January. Four Starzzz Flash was second in that race after starting off level marks with Wee Brother.
Four Starzzz Flash is conceding Wee Brother a 10m start tonight.
Lethal Rocket has robust form for the Addington race. He ran third to Power Of Tara and Nearea Franco in a free-for-all last Saturday and won from a 20m handicap at Addington the start before.
He is trained by Mark Jones, who won the Country Cups final last year with Crystal Star. Leo O'Reilly is in the sulky tonight with Jones in Auckland. O'Reilly drove Lethal Rocket for a minor placing in two starts when the gelding was trained by Dean Taylor.
Colin De Filippi is back on Four Starzzz Flash with Dexter Dunn in Auckland.
Van Washing Man brilliantly won the Winton Cup at his last start on April 17. He was resuming after a four-month break from racing. He had treatment for a blood disorder after he failed as favourite in the Wairio Cup in December.
Vi Et Animo may be hard pressed to concede Van Washing Man a 20m start. He started from 20m at Forbury Park last week and 30m when he won the Wyndham Cup last month.
• John Dickie, the Cambridge trainer, has top prospects in feature races for trotters at Alexandra Park and Addington tonight.
Dickie has Paramount Geegee in the $70,000 Sires' Stakes Championship for 3yr-olds at Alexandra Park and Flying Isa in the $25,000 NZ Trotting Stakes for 2yr-olds at Addington. Robbie Holmes, who has driven Flying Isa in his four wins from seven starts, retains the drive.
Joshua Dickie, son of the trainer, is the new driver for Paramount Geegee.
