The Neill Ridley-trained 4yr-old shoots for a hat-trick of wins in race 7, a rating 75 race over 1200m.
Vendima has made a big impression with two stylish come-from-behind wins recently.
Ridley's apprentice, Hayley Bennet, who has ridden the mare in both wins, knows better than most how smart the horse is. Bennet rides her every day and Vendima is one of her stable favourites.
''We always knew she was quite special when she first came to the stable, but we didn't know how quick she really would be,'' she said.
''She is a bit quirky. She still does a few things wrong.
''We know she has got the speed and we know that she has got the class about her. It is just about her getting it all together on the day.''
Vendima has not done that on raceday yet, jumping slowly before weaving her way through the field in both wins.
Today she is likely to settle off the pace, again even if she jumps better than she has done to date, given the pace Bennet expects to see.
''We are not going to change the way she races.
''She is quite happy to sit back and hopefully get a bit of luck and run through them again.
''It's not a massive field [nine starters]. Even if she sits last she is not going to be far off the leaders anyway and there is a bit of speed in the race anyway.''
Bennet is in a purple patch of form with wins on Vendima and her veteran stablemate Batman, but she is playing down that success and deflecting any praise on to her boss.
''I am just a bit lucky with Neill keeping me on these horses. I owe it to him a lot.''
''Batman is a cool old horse and I seem to get along with him really well.''
The Ridley stable has five other runners at today's meeting.
Of them, Non Blonde looks the leading chance in race 6, a competitive maiden in which she will be ridden by leading jockey Samantha Collett.
Hardcase is solid each-way hope for rider Samantha Wynne in race 2, an even line-up of rating 65 milers.
Ridley also lines up Prince Oz and Kenya in race 5 and Ataahuadreamsrfree in race 7.
