Second Wind, the winner of 10 races including the group one Taylor Mile, has been sold to the United States.
Second Wind was consigned to his new trainer, Peter Tritton, at Dover (Delaware) last week.
The Dream Away-Carmel Maria gelding will remain a 6yr-old as he was bred to American time (foaled on January 11, 2006).
He was raced by Greg Adlam, of Wellington, and trained by his brother, Simon Adlam, at Ashburton.
Second Wind won nine of his 16 starts at 4. His wins included the Taylor Mile in a 1.56.3 rate for 1700m (mobile), the Ashburton Cup and Green Mile at Methven.
His most recent win was at the New Zealand Cup meeting in November. He finished eighth in the New Zealand Cup.
Power Of Tara, who finished sixth, was sold to the United States in January.
Vi Et Animo (10th) has been sold to Australia.
Monkey King (seventh) and Bettor's Strike (12th) have been retired.
Smoken Up, who finished second to Terror To Love, does not have the New Zealand Cup on his programme this season, his trainer, Lance Justice said.
El Nino, the winner of six races, has been sold to Australia.
He won the 2009 New Zealand Kindergarten Stakes at Wyndham when trained by Doug McLachlan. The Live Or Die gelding had his two most recent wins from the North Taieri stable of Craig Buchan.
• Ima Gold Digger, who has not raced since April last year, won a workout at Motukarara on Saturday.
The winner of 15 races and now rising 7, Ima Gold Digger had his last win in the 2010 New Zealand Trotting Free-For-All. He also won the Trotters Mile in 1.56.7 at Ashburton the same season.
• Moment of Truth, the 14-win trotter, is now owned and trained by Adrian Wohlers at Cambridge after being claimed for $5000 at Alexandra Park last Friday.
Mighty Creation has joined Nicola Chilcott at Cambridge after being claimed. He won 13 races from the Small stable.
Moment of Truth and Mighty Creation have both been entered for the Auckland meeting on Friday night with price tags of $10,000.
• Volume Control, who won a maiden trot at Oamaru in November, is now trained by Barry Gooch at Balclutha. Volume Control was previously trained by Kyle Cameron.
Dwindle Mist led her stablemate, Amici Amour, home by five lengths when both rising 4yr-olds qualified as trotters at Washdyke on Saturday for trainer Phil Williamson.
• Dwindle Mist is a sister to Rhythmic Sun (11 wins) and half-sister to Young Pointer, a trotting winner in three countries.
• Shamrox has been retired from racing after a recurrence of a breathing problem.
The winner of four races from the Ashburton stable of Daniel Champion and Kezia Murphy, Shamrox was having difficulties breathing when well beaten at Oamaru on Sunday. She has undergone three wind operations.
