Trainer Michael Pitman, who won six races at Waikouaiti on Saturday, said he had an even stronger team at the Central Otago meeting at Omakau today.
''It is a big call but I think my team at Omakau is stronger,'' Pitman said.
The team of 15 includes O'Canny, a winner at Waikouaiti; Milo, Wine'nsoda and Typhoon Warning, winners at Kurow on Thursday and Raewyn Coup, a last-start winner at Cromwell.
He is expecting improvement from Draconic, who was beaten a neck at Kurow.
Draconic had a setback leading up to that race.
He rates Milo highly and is keen to give him another race before the Gore Guineas.
Chase The Sun and Coup Callum finished close up in the Waikouaiti Cup and along with Fellini give the stable a strong handicap in the featured Clare Memorial Cup.
Their task will be easier with the announcement that Inferno, winner of the Kurow Cup, will not start.
''She will have a short spell and be prepared for the White Robe Lodge Handicap,'' Shane Anderton, her co-trainer, said.
• Daniel Stackhouse was suspended from January 8 to 15 inclusive for careless riding at Waikouaiti on Saturday.
He admitted causing a check to Dear John near the 300m in race 9 when riding Thornycroft.
Sumotori sustained cuts and abrasions to his chest and stomach in a melee after a horse crashed through the running rail during race 2 at Waikouaiti.
Cavorts crashed through the rail at the 850m. The rail came back on Sumotori and Cavorts. No riders were injured.
Sumotori was removed from the track in a trailer float.
• Chris Johnson was suspended from January 4 to 8 inclusive for careless riding at Wingatui on Boxing Day.
Casey Lunn was suspended until January 11 and fined $150 for failing to ride out Lotus, who dead-heated for third at Kurow.
Jason Laking was fined $200 for failing to make the weight for his engagements at Wingatui on Boxing Day.
