Racing: Mare thriving at beach

Ten days at the beach with trainers Graeme Anderson and Amber Hoffman has rejuvenated Paris H, who is engaged at Forbury Park on Thursday night.

"I sent her to Graeme and Amber when I went to Australia. She has really done well," Daryl Trainor, her part-owner and former trainer, said.

He has won three races with Paris H from his Forbury Park stable.

Paris H won a workout at Forbury Park on Saturday in 2.48 for 2200m (mobile), the last 800m in 57.2.

Clifton Prize, a stablemate of Paris H, qualified at Forbury Park yesterday in 2.50.9 for 2200m, 7.4sec inside the required time. She is a 4yr-old mare by Tinted Cloud-Clifton Bette.

The Fiery Ginga ran 2200m in 2.48.7, the last 800m in 56.2, when he distanced his two rivals in a trial at Forbury Park yesterday.

Southland Reflector continued to make a good impression when he led throughout a trial for 0w trotters. The 3yr-old son of Pegasus Spur-Big Moment with Craig Buchan qualified at Forbury Park on March 12 and won a trial at Oamaru 16 days later.

Buchan qualified Sappy's Brite Star, the 2yr-old Sundon-Sapient filly, as a trotter yesterday.

Ten Diamonds, who has been entered for the Addington meeting on Saturday night, won a trial at Addington yesterday after starting from 50m.

Vulcan will miss the remaining major races for trotters this season . He has been put aside for a spell. The Tim Butt-trained Vulcan won the Dominion Handicap, New Zealand Trotting Free-For-all, Banks Peninsula Cup and V L Dullard Cup at Melton and $264,941 in stakes from 13 starts during the season.
