I'm A Dazzler made an instant return of $3030 for his new owners when he won at Forbury Park last night.

The rising 11yr-old had been claimed for $8000 at Forbury Park on June 9 by a group headed by Andrew Scott, of Woodend. Scott now shares the ownership of I'm A Dazzler with Shannon Scott, Sam Morris and Hamish Monk, all of Kaiapoi.

I'm A Dazzler was transferred to Fernside trainer Phil Burrows after being claimed.

The gelding was a winner at Forbury Park in February for Warren Stapleton. I'm A Dazzler was driven last night by Brett Thomas, a junior driver with the Burrows stable.

Royal Courage was claimed last night for $3000 by Joan Braam, of Dunedin. She said Royal Courage (five wins) would remain in the Waikouaiti stable of Bruce Negus.

UK Connection, who recorded his fifth successive win last night, will now contest a series for claimers at Addington next month.

"He had to work a bit tonight and will not find it easy as a seven-win horse," David Gaffaney, his owner-trainer, said.

• UK Connection is unbeaten in five starts since Gaffaney took over the 7yr-old two months ago.

"All I can say is that the horse had been retired," Gaffaney said.

His previous win was last July, one of three when trained by David and Catherine Butt.

• White Socks gave further evidence of his ability when he won the Graduation Final last night.

He was in the open close to the lead before he went to the front at the 1200m. He shook off a stern challenge from Western Mist on the home turn to win by three and a-half lengths.

• Bathan Muir, of Edendale, continued a 13-year association as an owner with the Lee stable at Wyndham when Surreal Moment finished fast to win a maiden trot last night.

Muir had his first win with Hanover Royce, who was successful at Gore in 1998 at his first start. Hanover Royce was trained by Gordon and Colin Lee, who prepare Surreal Moment. Hanover Royce did not win in another 24 starts before he was sold to Australia.

Muir races Surreal Moment with Gordon Lee's wife, Betty.

They bred Surreal Moment, who is by Malabar Maple out of Only A Moment. Her other foal to race, Dream A Moment, won four races for the Lee stable before she was sold to Australia.

No Courage Russell was scratched from his engagement last night due to an infection.

"He has an infection and his legs swelled," Graeme Anderson, his co-trainer, said.

No Courage Russell has won four races and been five-times placed in 10 starts since he joined the Westwood Beach stable of Anderson and Amber Hoffman six months ago.
