The 8yr-old winner of 16 races, including the group one National Trot and Great Northern Trotting Derby, has not raced since April last year. Houdini Star ran third to Mon Star and Beat The Monarch in a trial at Rangiora on March 8.
John Hay, his Ashburton trainer, has the in-form Pay Me Cullen in the Palmerstonian Classic tonight.
Pay Me Cullen has won four of his last five starts.
Lightning Raider, who ran Captain Peacock to a head at Forbury Park last Thursday, is among the rivals for Pay Me Cullen.
