Reinsman Brent Barclay has a fourth Waikouaiti Cup in his sights when he drives Badlands Jewel tomorrow.
Barclay has won the race with Brilliant Butler (1998), Bonnie Lass (2003), and Jamie (2006).
Brilliant Butler was trained at Invercargill by Wayne Adams who prepares Badlands Jewel.
Brilliant Butler was owned by Brian Fraser, of Oamaru, and the late Pat Heffernan.
Fraser is the owner of Badlands Jewel.
The mare has won eight races including the 2008 Sires' Stakes Final for 3yr-old fillies at Addington.
Badlands Jewel won at Invercargill two starts back and she was runner-up to Beths Boy at Wyndham last Sunday.
Barclay drove The Moth to win over a mile in 1.56.6 at Wyndham.
She is a rival for Badlands Jewel tomorrow, with Clark Barron the driver.
Blair Orange is the new driver for Niraadi, last-start winner of the Oamaru Cup on grass. Niraadi is again off 40m.
Her trainer Robert Dunn also has Soky's Gain and Cambo in the Waikouaiti Cup.
Yankee One (race 10) is another drive for Barclay.
Yankee One won his only start at Winton on December 19.
