Artiface, who has recorded two wins and three placings in five starts for the Balcairn stable of John and Karen Parsons, will campaign in Auckland over the next fortnight.
Artiface, who ran second to Fair Dunkum Bromac at Methven on Sunday, travels north today.
The 4yr-old Mach Three-Abbey Rose gelding won first up at Kaikoura in November and he won at Rangiora two starts back.
Artiface is targeting a graduation series at the Interdominion meeting.
The first heat is on Friday night and a $15,000 final a week later.
"I am just looking at the two races and he can stay with Ian Small," John Parsons said.
Artiface was bred by John and Karen Parsons.
He is a half-brother to Roseraire (by Village Jasper), who has won twice at Alexandra Park since she was sent to the Small stable at Maramarua last month.
The Parsons stable plans to start O'Cartier in the $45,000 Flying Handicap (1400m) at Awapuni on Saturday.
Hayden Tinsley, who rode O'Cartier to a last-start win in the Lightning Handicap (1200m) at Trentham, has retained the mount.
O'Cartier ran third to Tip The Wink and Nitty Gritty in the Flying Handicap last year.
He won the weight-for-age Higgins Challenge Stakes (1400m) at Awapuni in 2009.
• Izuan Khairil is returning to Malaysia next week after riding 57 winners.
He has completed his apprenticeship with Riccarton trainer Shane Marr after an initial period with Murray Hamilton at Omakau.
Khairil will continue his riding career in Malaysia.
Marr is heading to Awapuni on Saturday with Soldier's Tale (3yr-old race), Mt Difficulty (special conditions event) and Velocita Di Santo, a winner at Wingatui on March 12 at his only start.
• Kylie Williams will miss the Otago meeting on Friday after a suspension for careless riding at Riccarton last Saturday.
Williams, the rider of Heaven Sent, was suspended until midnight on April 10 for shifting in at the 300m in the South Island Breeders' Stakes, causing a check to Hell Yeah.
• Captain Joy, an Australian contender for the Interdominion pacing series, has been transferred to trainer Lance Justice.
Captain Joy, previously trained by Susan Hunter, of Victoria, finished second-last in his heat last Friday.
Justice is the trainer of Smoken Up, winner of a heat last Friday and set to repeat this Friday after drawing one over 2200m.
Musgrove will wear half blinds in his heat on Friday.
• Trainer Jay Abernethy has four of the eight acceptors in the claiming race at Cambridge today.
Abernethy has the drive on Young Cullen.
He is also the trainer of Rocket King, Jackpot Girl and Painted Black.
• I Am Legend recorded a dashing win at the Forbury Park trials yesterday.
I Am Legend trailed the pacemaker, led at the 500m and won by three and a-half lengths, sprinting his last 800m in 58.4.
A last-start winner at Winton on March 2, I Am Legend has won three times from seven starts.
Zoogin, who is in the race for 2yr-old trotters at Rangiora tomorrow, made a one-horse affair of his heat yesterday after establishing a big lead early.
