The 4yr-old will not face a rival in the same league as U May Cullect, the horse he chased home in his last start at Winton.
Rather than the opposition, it is the Kirstin Barclay and Paul Ellis-trained pacer's tricky barrier draw that could pose the biggest problem for him in race 6.
''He is drawn out and there is a bit of speed inside him, so he will be driven for a sit,'' Barclay said.
''He has pretty good form coming into a race like this.''
Niggling issues since his last-start second forced Paddyproudfoot to miss some recent trackwork. That means the horse will not strip at his absolute peak fitness for tonight's race.
''He has had a couple of minor hiccups since his last run, so the race should bring him on for Monday, as well.''
Paddyproudfoot has been accepted to clash again with U May Cullect in a standing-start race at the Ascot Park meeting on Monday.
U May Cullect has also encountered a problem which could leave him more vulnerable for defeat than at any of his previous starts.
A heel complaint, common in horses during winter, meant the unbeaten pacer has not made any public appearances since his last-start win in early May.
''He has had an issue with greasy heel and we haven't wanted to risk taking him anywhere.
''He is eligible for the Uncut Gems at Addington 10 days later, so we need to get a run into him.''
U May Cullect may not be at his peak fitness on Monday, but should not need to be, judging by the strength of his opposition.
The biggest challenge he faces in the 2700m handicap could be dealing with his first standing start.
''He is his own off 30m, so I don't think it will be a problem,'' Barclay said.
The Barclay-Ellis stable line up a four-strong team at tonight's meeting.
Track specialist Miss Fandango, who starts in race 9, is overdue for a win. The 5yr-old has had seven starts at Forbury Park for a win and five placings.
Hampton looks a big winning chance for Barclay and Ellis in race 8, despite drawing barrier 7.
''He has been able to do work in his races and finish it off, so he should be thereabouts.''
The Barclay-Ellis stable also starts Double Rainbow, who looks an each-way chance, in race 5.
