Equine immortality awaits glamour mare Winx at Moonee Valley tomorrow.

The Chris Waller-trained champion has the chance to become only the second horse to win three consecutive Cox Plates.

Victory would put Winx, pictured above with jockey Hugh Bowman after success in last year's plate, alongside 1980-82 winner Kingston Town as three-time winners of the 2040m race known as Australasia's weight-for-age championship.

Should Winx, the winner of her past 21 starts, be able to join such elite company she will do so before a capacity crowd.

On Tuesday, Moonee Valley officials put the sold-out signs for general admission tickets, which sent some Winx fans scrambling to to buy a member's pass in order to be there for the occasion.

Waller will leg rider Hugh Bowman aboard Winx knowing she has had the perfect preparation.

``With any animal, any sportsperson, you're always a little cautious of what may go wrong,'' he said.

``We know we've got the right horse, a great jockey, the right race, and everything has worked towards this since she won the Cox Plate last year.

``We're just trying to keep everything in a similar pattern to last year and thankfully everything has gone well.''

Winx has been rated a $1.15 favourite during the week, ahead of 3yr-old Royal Symphony.
