A big 18 hours for Southland breeders John and Katrina Price culminates tomorrow, when Rockabilly Blues has her final race before next weekend's Harness Jewels at Ascot Park.
The well-related 4yr-old mare will clash with fellow Jewels contenders, Mighty Flying Art and Robyns Playboy, in the meeting's feature mobile pace over 2200m.
Rockabilly Blues will be out to prove she is on track for her Harness Jewels tilt after a minor injury saw her race well below her best in her last start, behind star pacer U May Cullect.
"It certainly wasn't like her, because she has actually been consistent all season," Katrina Price said.
"She actually pulled up sore in a hind leg after the race and we took a blood [sample] off her two hours afterwards and she had tied up."
The Price stable has got on top of Rockabilly Blues' tying-up problem by making changes to her training routine.
They appear to be working as the mare goes in to tomorrow's race in excellent order.
"Since then she has had a bit of a freshen [up] and done a few different things."
"She certainly seems fit and well and on the way back up again."
Rockabilly Blues has led in her past three starts, but punters could expect to see her further back in the field on Saturday.
"She will probably be driven a lot colder than she has been previously, just with respect that it is her first start back and then Jewels are the following week.
"I would like a really nice confidence boosting run for her."
Mighty Flying Art may be in for a similar pre-Jewels run by default.
The Murray Brown trained 3yr-old could face traffic problems after drawing barrier 1 on the second row.
Where Robyns Playboy gets to after the start of Saturday's 2200m event looks a crucial aspect of the race.
The Ross Wilson-trained pacer has the gate speed to lead from barrier 8.
And should he do so he would be incredibly hard for his rivals to catch.
Robyns Playboy also chased U May Cullect home in the same race Rockabilly Blues contested.
The Wilson stable will also be looking for a confidence boosting run from their 3yr-old, after he galloped out of contention in the race.
John and Katrina Price have another Jewels contender having her final hit-out before next weekend's event at Alexandra Park on Friday night.
Pearl Harbour will prepare for her tilt at the 2yr-old fillies title in racing 51-57 company.
The Harness Jewels of 2015 was the event Chicago Bull would contest for the Prices, who bred the champion pacer, before he was sold to the Gary Hall stable.
The pacer will have his second start back from a horror back injury at Gloucester Park tonight.
