Super Rugby will go ahead this weekend but the match between the Crusaders and Hurricanes has been moved to Sunday with the hope Covid-19 alert levels will be moved on Saturday night and a crowd will be able to come on Sunday.
The Chiefs game against the Highlanders remains on Friday.
The Chiefs were keen to play it on Sunday but had to stick to the Friday night so it would be played in front of empty stands.
Lockdown levels could be changed at 6am on Sunday should the Government be satisfied with progress.

The South Island secondary schools rowing championships were set to be raced at Lake Ruataniwha in Twizel on March 5-7 but have been suspended.
Organisers of the event, which attracts about 1000 rowers, are working with School Sport New Zealand to assess whether the events can take place at an alternative time.
The Motatapu event, which includes cycling and running, due to be held on Saturday, was canned on Sunday.
