Former Junior Black Sox representative Michael Crowley powered the Saints to an unbeaten record after two rounds of the Dunedin premier men's competition on Saturday.
The Saints smashed the Cardinals 14-4 and came from behind to beat the Dodgers 10-8.
Crowley had two hits, including a home run, and three RBIs in three bats against the Cardinals, and across the doubleheader he went to the plate seven times for four hits, two walks and a solitary ground-out.
The Saints batted consistently in the first game, scoring five runs in the first inning, two in the second, four in the third and three in the fourth to beat the Cardinals on the mercy rule.
With the support of his batters, pitcher Sam Jones performed well to take the win for the Saints team.
It was a much tighter battle in the second game.
The Dodgers led 8-4 at the top of the fourth inning and it seemed they would be the only unbeaten club after the round.
But the Saints batters were given some free tickets when Dodgers pitcher Ben Watts, the talented 16-year-old national representative playing his first season of premier softball, lost his control.
Watts walked the first three batters he faced in the fourth inning.
Saints batters Tim Howard and Mike O'Neill then each drove in two runs.
In the third game, Dodgers staged a remarkable comeback to beat Ellis Park 5-4.
Ellis Park took a 4-0 lead into the bottom of the fifth but infield errors proved costly as Dodgers scored five runs to win the game.
