Avery reappointed

Olympian and five-time Commonwealth Games medallist Nigel Avery has been reappointed New Zealand chef de mission.

He will lead the New Zealand team to the Glasgow Commonwealth Games in 2026 and the Los Angeles Olympics two years later.

Avery, a former international representative in weightlifting, athletics and bobsleigh, was chef de mission at both the Birmingham Commonwealth Games in 2022 and the recent Paris Olympics. — APL
