Swedish and New Zealand skiers dominated the Winter Games super G at Mt Hutt on Saturday.
Daniel Ericsson, of Sweden, narrowly beat compatriots Calle Lindh and Doglas Hedin in the men's race with a time of 58.3sec.
Lindh (58.48sec) was second and Hedin (58.52sec) was third. Tim Cafe was the first New Zealander home in 59.08sec, placing fifth.
The men's event included skiers from Sweden, Japan, New Zealand, the United States, Switzerland and Korea taking on the single run in perfect, windless conditions at Mt Hutt.
In the women's super G, New Zealander Taylor Rapley set the pace with an impressive 1min 2.77sec, followed by team-mate Lucie Tait-Jamieson in 1min 2.95sec.
Norway's Rikke Gasmann-Brott came close with 1min 3.08sec but the remaining 16 competitors were unable to match these times. The race attracted 11 New Zealanders and others came from Ireland, Norway, Australia, Great Britain, the US and Korea.
Queenstown-born Rapley, a New Zealand team member, said she was excited to win after poor performances earlier in the season.
Australian adaptive athlete Cameron Rahles-Rahbula won the men's super G standing race with an exceptional time of 1min 4.09sec.
In the men's sitting race, American Heath Calhoun blew his competition away in 1min 4.30sec.
New Zealand Paralympian Adam Hall failed to finish but fellow Kiwi Quinton Smith came sixth in the men's sitting race, with a time of 1min 19.48sec.
In the women's visually impaired race, Australian Melissa Perrine narrowly beat Great Britain's Kelly Gallagher to win with 1min 15.15sec. Korea's Jae Rim Yang came third.
