Zoi Sadowski-Synnott is unstoppable.

The Wānaka snowboarder has added another accolade to her CV, winning her first FIS Snowboard SlopeStyle Crystal Globe in Austria at the weekend.

Sadowski-Synnott won the final Slopestyle World Cup in Austria as well.

"To qualify in first and then manage to get this result and walk away with the globe feels pretty unreal because I’ve never had one of these before," Sadowski-Synnott said.

"It feels pretty good to hold one of these [the globe].”

She became the second New Zealand snowboarder to have won the globe after Tiarn Collins, who won the men’s slopestyle award in 2022.

"It wasn’t even on my mind. I just wanted to get back into this season strong and healthy coming off my ankle injury last year.”

Mia Brookes, of Great Britain, finished in second place, 12 points behind Sadowski-Synnott, and Kokomo Murase, of Japan, rounded out the standings in third, 22 points behind.

The Flachau snowboard slopestyle finals were set to go down in Austria on the weekend, but adverse weather resulted in the cancellation of the final round of competition. As per FIS rules, results were taken from qualification and as the top qualifier, Sadowski-Synnott got the win.

Sadowski-Synnott laced together a solid qualification run on her first attempt. Her technical run included a front blunt 450 out of the A-frame rail and a huge backside double corked 1080 on the final jump.

Sadowski-Synnott was joined on the World Cup podium by Annika Morgan, of Germany, in second and Mari Fukada, of Japan, in third.

‘‘You just never really know what’s going to happen, and we’ve got World Championships left. [I’m] pretty excited,” Sadowski-Synnott said. — APL
