Otago crews picked up 11 medals at the New Zealand Rowing Championships at Lake Ruataniwha yesterday.
Otago University Rowing nabbed two golds and three silvers.
Phoebe Trolove grabbed gold in the women’s under-22 single sculls, edging her double sculls team-mate Eva Hofmans, who claimed silver.
They teamed up to win gold in the women’s under-22 double sculls. Hannah Matehaere and Manaia Butler took the women’s novice double sculls silver.
Edwin George won the men’s club single sculls.
Dunstan Arm Rowing Club had a fine day, collecting four medals.
The men’s club double sculls crew of Henry Clatworthy and Simon Lloyd took gold, and Angus Kenny and Jack Pearson matched that feat in the men’s senior double sculls.
Silja Runge and Charlotte Lightfoot got silver in the women’s senior double sculls, while Hamish Yeatman and Gerard Wall collected bronze in the men’s under-22 double sculls.
Oamaru’s intermediate coxed eight crew of Scott Hay, Jett Rogers, Stuart Isbister, Jake Roney, Nye Jones-Hogan, Jacob Harrison, Harrison Friend, Lochlan McLaren and cox Henry Robinson grabbed gold, and Patrick Spillane and Jones-Hogan took silver in the men’s intermediate double sculls.
