The event, dubbed "Global Warming Hits Dunedin" at Sammy's Entertainment Centre this Saturday, will feature more than 30 wrestling, mixed martial arts and kickboxing bouts.
The night starts with wrestling.
Following that, organisers will erect a cage for the mixed martial arts bouts, then a ring will be assembled for the kickboxing events.
"It is a big show in the sense that we are having all the different codes," Todd said.
"There is definitely something for everyone but it really showcases that a majority of the top mixed martial arts fighters in the world come from the sport of wrestling."
Todd said the event was unique because he believed there had never been a fight night featuring so many different codes.
There are 10 wrestling bouts involving at least six national champions, including Dunedin's Jessica Todd and Ricky Welsford.
Todd (17) and Welsford (17) are competing in the event as part of their preparation for the Commonwealth Games.
The pair head to Japan and India later this year in a bid to qualify for the Games.
Sam "Striker" Brown of Auckland will fight Jason Awa of Hamilton on the mixed martial arts main card and in the kickboxing Paula "The Tongan Tornado" Mataele will fight Invercargill's Hiriwa "The T Man" Te Rangi.
Te Rangi is a veteran fighter with 122 kickboxing bouts, 15 cage fights and 11 professional boxing matches behind him.
He went the distance (eight rounds) with New Zealand boxer Shane Cameron in July 2004 with just six days' notice, and managed a notable victory over former Australian kickboxing heavyweight champion Grant Barker.
However, he will go into the fight as the underdog after losing to the Amsterdam-based Mataele by TKO in 2005.
Both fighters weigh in at about 115kg but the 1.95m Mataele will enjoy a 5cm height advantage.
Mataele has been active in Europe and has fought in K1.
He has had six professional fights, winning all of them by KO, and 20 professional kickboxing bouts.
