Luke Murphy, Natasha Civil and Michael McNally all claimed wins in their divisions at the South Island championships held over the weekend.
Murphy and Civil won the over 30 men’s and women’s titles respectively, both beating other Dunedin opponents in the process.
The men’s final saw four Dunedin surfers contest the title.
However, Murphy — who last year won the open men’s title — proved a convincing winner with a score of 11.5, beating Josh Thickpenny’s score of 7.9.
In the women’s final, Civil put on an impressive showing to score 13. Dunedin’s Hayley Coakes was second with 9.03.
McNally won the men’s over 45 title, also beating three other Dunedin competitors in the final.
His score of 11.7 gave him a comfortable win over second-placed Simon Brennan.
However, Coakes was the only Dunedin surfer to feature in the open finals.
She finished fourth in the open women’s section, with a score of 6.9 in the final.
The final was won by Christ- church’s Tegan Bishop, who scored 10.1. Piha’s Zen Wallis put on an impressive showing in the open men’s final to take the title, scoring 14.17. Several other Dunedin surfers also made finals. Mark Stevenson and Shani Ayson finished second in the men’s stand-up paddleboard and women’s under-20 sections respectively.
Steev Peyroux was third in the stand-up paddleboard final, while Anika Ayson came third in the under-18 girls grade.
Ayson was followed by Jaya Reardon, who managed fourth alongside Jack McLeod in the under-18 boys, Ruben Peyroux in the under-16 boys and Misha Peyroux in the under-14 girls.
