Jane Watson and Te Paea Selby-Rickit have made themselves unavailable for the Silver Ferns this year.
The Mainland Tactix players indicated they were not retiring, but commitments outside of netball mean they were unable to commit.
The Silver Ferns trialists will be announced after the ANZ Premiership final next month. They will play the Taini Jamison Trophy series against England in September and the Constellation Cup against Australia in October.
