Netball New Zealand operations director Kate Agnew has confirmed the Edgar Centre is in the running to host a Tactix home game next season.
The Tactix are desperately searching for a venue to host their game against the Adelaide Thunderbirds on May 27.
The CBS Canterbury Arena, which is in high demand as events flood back in to Christchurch following the 2011 earthquake, and the Trafalgar Centre in Nelson are both unavailable. The Edgar Centre is available, but while it is on the list it is not necessarily at the top, Agnew said.
"We are working with the Tactix to try and explore some options for them and to work through the different choices," she said.
"There are a few choices and we have not settled on any as yet. Hopefully, within the next week we will have something sorted out.
"I don't want to commit to any venue at this point because there are lots of different factors that we are considering."
Tactix chief executive Peter Smith told the Christchurch Press the franchise was considering playing the game in Australia.
"When we play in Australia, we don't own the games so we are limited to what we can do to promote our sponsors," he said.
"But if we take one of our home games over there, then we own it and we can do more."
