It may be entitled the Demolition Man but tonight's racing at Island Park Speedway is also about preservation.
While the rules for the streetstocks category may allow a nudge, or a tap to spin, if another driver is blocking the way, the competitors have a South Island title coming up at the month's end.
Those heading away for it will be wanting to limit the panel damage, while still vying for the Demolition Man trophy.
"They don't mind getting into it.
They probably get a bit over-enthusiastic," promoter Mark Newall said.
Also on the race programme, from 6pm, is the production's Murray Fisher memorial race.
