Motorsport: Full-on two days for Beachlands

Two days of hard-core racing are in store at Beachlands Speedway this weekend as the track hosts the New Zealand Streetstock GP and South Island super saloons championship.

The Streetstock GP drivers will be busy over Friday and Saturday with heats, and a repechage, deciding which 26 cars will go through to the three-race final series on Saturday.

The finals will be run over a maximum of 15 laps.

The South Island super saloons event revs up at 7pm tomorrow, with two groups taking part in two 15-lap heats each to decide the 20 finalists, who will compete in a winner-takes-all final later in the night.

Another two drivers can reach the final from one repechage.

Supporting acts for the Streetstock GP on Saturday night include the Otago saloon championships, the Elf Super Cup and the ministock best pairs.
